WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE?

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF LIFE?

In Islam, the quest for purpose is deeply rooted in understanding one’s role as a servant of Allah (God). The verse , “I have not created men except that they should serve Me” (Quran 51:56), gives birth to this fundamental belief. It highlights that the purpose of human existence is to worship and serve Allah.

From an Islamic perspective, obtaining a degree or pursuing worldly success is not inherently wrong, but it should not overshadow one’s primary purpose of serving Allah. Education and career should be aligned with ethical principles and values prescribed by Islam. Moreover, the pursuit of wealth and fame should not become the sole focus of one’s life, as these worldly gains hold no significance in the Hereafter.

Islam emphasizes the importance of repentance and seeking forgiveness from Allah throughout one’s life, regardless of age or past actions. It’s never too late to turn back to Allah, seek His mercy, and strive to live a righteous life. The Day of Judgment serves as a reminder of the ultimate accountability before Allah, where each individual will be held responsible for their deeds.

In essence, Islam provides a clear framework for understanding and fulfilling one’s purpose in life: to worship and serve Allah sincerely, to seek knowledge and success in accordance with Islamic teachings, and to continually strive for repentance and righteousness. May Allah guide us all on the path of truth and forgive our shortcomings. Ameen.
